Wow! What a crazy week! On the slideshow are pics from Brody and Clayton's most recent baseball games. Clayton just finished his season and Brody has a couple more games.
We had our open house and it seems to have gone pretty well. We had a few interested parties but have not had any follow up so the fun continues!
This is the last week of school so we went to Clayton's Kindergarten program, and an author party at Brody's class. We also dropped off donuts to Brody's class for his birthday treat! We cannot believe he is 8!
The school had and awards ceremony today and Brody won the Reading Award for 2nd grade. They decide who wins based on points they earn from reading books. the harder the book the more points it is worth. He just recently finished the 4th book in the Harry Potter Series. That was a feat in itself seeing that the book was almost 800 pages and is a 7th grade level book. We are so proud of him because he worked really hard this year, being recognized is just a nice way to finish his years at Incarnation.
Cade has really started smiling so I tried to capture a couple pics of that as well!
Enjoy the slideshow, until next time....

Clayton turns six!
Clayton turned six this week! We cannot believe how big he is getting and well he is doing in school. Mamere and Papere came in to visit to meet Cade and to attend Brody's first Communion. We had a great whirlwind visit. They left Monday morning and Heather came in monday afternoon. She got to go to Brody's baseball practice, Grace's kindermusik, and Clayton's game and birthday party. Grace thinks Heather is her own personal friend and was attached at the hip with her. We had Clay's party at Chuck E Cheese where he enjoyed his birthday with 25 of his closest friends. It was crazy but everyone enjoyed themselves. The house is still for sale and we have not had many inquires but we are planning an open house for next weekend. Cade is growing like a weed, I think he is almost 11 pounds which is up 3 1/2 pounds in 5 weeks. he is also starting to smile which is exciting for everyone and the kids are constantly trying to get him to smile at them! Hope everyone else is well. Enjoy the mother's day weekend!

New pics of Cade
Life at the Lukens household is a bit crazy to say the least! We had a new baby, put the house up for sale, had a three day garage sale, have 2 boys playing baseball, one making his first communion and family visiting. I do not know if we can top that next week! LOL
Here are some updated pics of Cade, he is growing like a weed and has already gained 2 and 1/2 pounds in his 3 short weeks of life. He is a very content baby and is truly adored by his brothers and sister. Enjoy the new pics!

Cade is born!
On April 3, 2008 we were scheduled for an induction at Germantown Methodist Hospital. Here is the long story!
I left for the hospital at 4:25am on Thursday April 3rd. On the way to the hospital I got stopped by the police, yes really! Must have been a slow day and they let me go after saying that I did not come to a complete stop before turning right on red!! Anyway, I arrived at the hospital at 4:45 am and they checked me in to my room. They started my pitocin and said that I was dilated to almost a 3.
At 8:00 Kreg arrived after getting the boys off to school and Grace to Ann's house for the day! Thank you Ann for taking care of her for the whole day!!!! Soon after Kreg got there my doctor came in and broke my water
in hopes that it would spur on labor to move a little quicker.
He checked me again and I was still at about 3 cm. The contractions got a little stronger as they increased the pitocin dosage and at around 10:00 I got an epidural that thankfully worked on both sides of my body!! My nurse checked me again at 11:00 and I had only dilated another cm and I was now not quite 4 cm. I was a little worried that I was moving sooo slowly. Then after taking a short nap I told Kreg at 11:45 I was feeling pressure and asked Kreg to go find the nurse to check me again she came in and said I was 10 cm and it was time to have a baby!!
She left to call my Dr. whose office is in the same building as the hospital so I figured I would only have to wait a few minutes until he arrived... Unfortunately, he was doing a proceedure in his office and could not come right away and Cade was not going to wait! The nurse checked me again and his head was trying to come out! She kept calling the office to have ANY dr come to deliver me! Finally they grabbed an OB i had never met who happened to be walking through labor and delivery, and asked her to come do the delivery because Cade was not going to wait any longer. So Dr Kysler came in and Cade came out in 3 short pushes. He had the cord wrapped around his neck 2 times but thankfully had never shown any signs of distress! He came out screaming and pink and recieved 2 apgar scores of 9 and 9!
We are so thankful that he is so healthy. He weighed 7 lbs. 6 oz and is 20 inches long. The kids are thrilled to finally have him home and there have already been many discussions about whose turn it is to hold the baby.
Thank you for all of the well wishes!
