Life at the Lukens household is a bit crazy to say the least! We had a new baby, put the house up for sale, had a three day garage sale, have 2 boys playing baseball, one making his first communion and family visiting. I do not know if we can top that next week! LOL
Here are some updated pics of Cade, he is growing like a weed and has already gained 2 and 1/2 pounds in his 3 short weeks of life. He is a very content baby and is truly adored by his brothers and sister. Enjoy the new pics!

Cade is born!
On April 3, 2008 we were scheduled for an induction at Germantown Methodist Hospital. Here is the long story!
I left for the hospital at 4:25am on Thursday April 3rd. On the way to the hospital I got stopped by the police, yes really! Must have been a slow day and they let me go after saying that I did not come to a complete stop before turning right on red!! Anyway, I arrived at the hospital at 4:45 am and they checked me in to my room. They started my pitocin and said that I was dilated to almost a 3.
At 8:00 Kreg arrived after getting the boys off to school and Grace to Ann's house for the day! Thank you Ann for taking care of her for the whole day!!!! Soon after Kreg got there my doctor came in and broke my water
in hopes that it would spur on labor to move a little quicker.
He checked me again and I was still at about 3 cm. The contractions got a little stronger as they increased the pitocin dosage and at around 10:00 I got an epidural that thankfully worked on both sides of my body!! My nurse checked me again at 11:00 and I had only dilated another cm and I was now not quite 4 cm. I was a little worried that I was moving sooo slowly. Then after taking a short nap I told Kreg at 11:45 I was feeling pressure and asked Kreg to go find the nurse to check me again she came in and said I was 10 cm and it was time to have a baby!!
She left to call my Dr. whose office is in the same building as the hospital so I figured I would only have to wait a few minutes until he arrived... Unfortunately, he was doing a proceedure in his office and could not come right away and Cade was not going to wait! The nurse checked me again and his head was trying to come out! She kept calling the office to have ANY dr come to deliver me! Finally they grabbed an OB i had never met who happened to be walking through labor and delivery, and asked her to come do the delivery because Cade was not going to wait any longer. So Dr Kysler came in and Cade came out in 3 short pushes. He had the cord wrapped around his neck 2 times but thankfully had never shown any signs of distress! He came out screaming and pink and recieved 2 apgar scores of 9 and 9!
We are so thankful that he is so healthy. He weighed 7 lbs. 6 oz and is 20 inches long. The kids are thrilled to finally have him home and there have already been many discussions about whose turn it is to hold the baby.
Thank you for all of the well wishes!

Kreg was home for a blissful 5 days and is now off to Hong Kong. He got a lot done in those five days. Touched up the entire inside of the house, filed our taxes and got to spend a lot of time with the kids! We found out Tuesday that Brody is allergic to cats, yikes, that means daily allergy medication, so we will just have to see how it goes. Tuesday afternoon we had another ultrasound. We brought everyone with us so they all got to see the baby on "TV." The U/S tech was great and showed them the hands and feet and beating heart as well as the chubby little face. She said the baby was weighing almost 6 pounds and looked very healthy.
Kreg left for his last trip before the baby will come so it definitely will not be long now! I told him we were really cutting it close on the the name game and should really try hard to have the names ready by the time he gets home from this trip! LOL
Thankfully 4 days of his 11/12 day trip will be spent in training in AK so at least he will be on the same continent!
The kids do not start Spring break until Thursday of next week but I know they are more than ready and so am I. It will be nice to have them home for 10 days hopefully the weather will be cooperate and we can try to do lots of fun activities.

Breaking news! SNOW in Memphis
It started snowing this afternoon and the boys are in heaven. They have been outside playing in it for almost 2 hours. Unfortunately because of Grace's ears she only got to stay outside for a short time and really did not get a chance to enjoy it (as you can see by her sad face in the first picture).
The boys got out of school early for the big winter weather and are thrilled that it is actually sticking. Hopefully this will not impede Kreg's plane from landing tonight!
Enjoy the pics.
